Unlock Resource Constraints

Many challenges that businesses face today, such as rising labour cost, are permanent constraints Singapore faces given our scarcity of land and resources. Businesses also face carbon constraints, amidst the growing impetus for global climate action.

To ensure that Singapore achieves our climate targets, we are developing new energy supply sources by tapping on renewable energy both within Singapore and beyond our shores, and developing the use of new low-carbon alternatives. This includes the implementation of Singapore’s National Hydrogen Strategy, as well as our plans to strengthen collaborations with regional and international partners to advance low-carbon energy trade, enhance grid connectivity and enable the deployment of low-carbon technologies such as carbon capture, utilisation and storage.

The Government is also supporting businesses to deepen the skill competitiveness of the workforce and leverage digital tools to increase productivity, to overcome the constraints faced. We continue to invest in our human capital, through upskilling our workforce and remaining open to world-class talent.
