LEE YI SHYAN IN MOSCOW TO UNLOCK BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES FOR SINGAPORE COMPANIES

Minister of State (MOS) for Trade and Industry Mr Lee Yi Shyan led a business delegation comprising infrastructure and real estate companies to Moscow. The companies represented included KeppeLand, PontiacLand, City Developments, Yanlord, Fraser Serviced Residences.

MOS Lee’s visit to Moscow, from 18 to 19 October, is partly aimed at unlocking new business opportunities for Singapore companies in a fast-growing Russia.

At a networking lunch with Singapore businessmen in Russia, MOS Lee commented, “An emerging Russia presents opportunities for Singapore companies in sectors such as consumer products, food and beverage, technology, real estate and hospitality. A number of Singapore companies have already successfully tapped into these areas and are keen to expand further. We can do more to raise the awareness of more Singapore companies to opportunities in Russia”.

Apart from the Singapore businessmen, MOS Lee also met with key representatives from the business and energy community in Russia, including Alfa Bank President Peter Aven. He also called on Aide to President Putin, Victor Ivanov and Minister of Economic Development and Trade, German Gref to discuss Singapore’s involvement in Russia’s SEZ project and other areas for economic cooperation.

Moscow is the second of a three-city official trip to Russia from 16-21 October. MOS Lee visited the Republic of Tatarstan on Monday, and the Western Siberia city of Tomsk is next on his agenda.
