Germany-Singapore Framework for Sustainability and Innovation (FSI)
Deepening economic linkages and catalysing new opportunities in growth sectors.
Signed on 13 November 2022, the FSI provides a structured framework for Germany and Singapore to deepen economic engagement at the government-to-government (G2G), government-to-business (G2B), and business-to-business (B2B) levels. The FSI also promotes private sector-led collaborations across growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and green technologies. Enterprise Singapore, Economic Development Board, and the Singaporean-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (SGC) are implementation partners for the FSI.
The FSI builds on the robust and dynamic economic partnership between Singapore and Germany, anchored by the Singapore-Germany Strategic Partnership and the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement (EUSFTA).
Key features of the FSI
Enhance investment promotion and facilitation between Singapore and German companies. The establishment of the Germany Trade & Invest’s (GTAI) regional office and representation offices by German federal states like Baden-Württemberg and Hesse in Singapore have provided strong support to Germany and Singapore companies as they explore opportunities in our respective markets and regions.
Strengthen economic collaboration with German states including North Rhine-Westphalia, Baden-Württemberg and Hamburg to catalyse partnerships between German and Singapore companies in growth sectors such as renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and green technology. Ongoing joint activities include Open Innovation Calls, thematic roundtable discussions, and business-to-business networking events.
