Permanent Secretary (Energy and Trade)

Mr Augustin Lee was appointed as Permanent Secretary (Energy & Trade) on 1 September 2025, after serving as Permanent Secretary in Smart Nation, Prime Minister’s Office and in the Ministry of Education.

Mr Lee has held various appointments in the then-Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Health, and National Healthcare Group.

At the Ministry of Trade and Industry, he drove the development of the two Integrated Resorts and led his team to secure the world’s first Formula One night race. He also served as Principal Private Secretary to then-Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong before his appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Manpower.

In 2019, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board. A strong believer in digitalisation and in bringing out the best in his team, he led CPF Board to win the Transformative Agency of the Year Award in 2022.
