As a TIER Officer, you will have a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in strengthening Singapore’s external economic relations through trade negotiations, economic diplomacy and strategic project development.

You will analyse key developments and their implications, formulate strategies, design policies, develop economic-related partnerships and agreements such as Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and Digital Economy Agreements (DEAs), to drive meaningful outcomes.

You will also represent Singapore in bilateral engagements, and on regional and multilateral platforms, and engage in strategic relationship management.

As the global economy evolves, you ensure Singapore’s economic relevance, and continued integration into global supply chains and the region.

As an Industry Officer, you will work closely with Firefly agencies and industry stakeholders to build a growing economy, sustained by productive industries and firms, that generate jobs and growing wages for Singaporeans.

You will formulate strategies and policies, in areas such as investment attraction, research and innovation, growing our local enterprises, building a vibrant lifestyle/tourism hub, unlocking land and manpower resources for economic growth, and transforming our sectors and firms to be more productive.

Your efforts will contribute to a competitive, innovative and sustainable economy, well-equipped to navigate the complexities of the global economic landscape.

As an officer working in the Energy and Carbon cluster, you will lead initiatives to reduce emissions and drive the transition to a low-carbon economy, while ensuring energy security and cost-competitiveness. This includes developing carbon markets and plan energy infrastructure.

You will also develop and advance cross-border electricity trading projects, assess, build enablers and develop pilots to harness low-carbon energy sources, and decarbonise our industrial activities to meet our international climate commitments.

Lastly, you will also get to collaborate with various stakeholders to support sustainable economic transformation and green growth through strategic planning, policy analysis, as well as partnerships with industry and international stakeholders.

As a public-sector economist, you will keep a close watch on global and domestic developments, analyse their impact on the Singapore economy, and apply sound economic principles and quantitative techniques to analyse economic and social policies.

As a corporate officer, you will play a critical role in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of MTI through functional areas of expertise — Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Communications, Information Technology (IT), Corporate Administration and Internal Audit.
