Question
Mr Gan Thiam Poh: To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry whether the Government will consider importing electricity or energy that is generated by nuclear plants from other countries.
Written Answer by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong
1. Based on our current understanding, countries in the region are still studying the potential deployment of nuclear energy and have yet to make a firm decision on it. It is therefore premature to discuss importing electricity that is generated by nuclear plants from other countries.
