Written Answer by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong
1. There are 2,947 local minimarts1 in Singapore. Of these, 1,172 are chain-operated and 1,338 are run by sole proprietors2. As of 1 January 2025, 712 minimarts lease their premises directly from HDB3. The Government does not track the number of minimarts operating under leases from private landlords.
