Singapore and Libya Sign Investment Guarantee Agreement and Avoidance of Double Taxation Convention

SINGAPORE AND LIBYA SIGN INVESTMENT GUARANTEE AGREEMENT AND AVOIDANCE OF DOUBLE TAXATION CONVENTION

Singapore and Libya have signed the Investment Guarantee Agreement (IGA) and Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income (DTC), in a landmark move that signifies growing economic relations between Singapore and Libya. The IGA and DTC were signed by Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Mr S Iswaran and Dr Mohammed Ali Al Huwayeg, Secretary of the Libyan General People’s Committee for Industry, Economy and Trade, on 8 April 2009 in Tripoli, Libya.
