MTI Strengthens Consumer Protection for Time Share and Long-Term Holiday Products
From 1 April 2014, consumers will enjoy greater protection when they purchase time share and long-term holiday product contracts. The Ministry of Trade and Industry has introduced amendments to the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) (Cancellation of Contracts) Regulations (“COC Regs”) which will take effect on 1 April 2014. The new changes aim to not only give consumers greater protection and flexibility but also encourage companies to review their products and services.
