MTI Forecasts Growth of 3.5 to 4.0 Per Cent in 2013 and 2.0 to 4.0 Per Cent in 2014

21 November 2013. The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announced today that it expects the Singapore economy to grow by 3.5 to 4.0 per cent in 2013, and by 2.0 to 4.0 per cent in 2014.
Performance in Third Quarter 2013
The Singapore economy grew by 5.8 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the third quarter of 2013, higher than the 4.4 per cent growth in the preceding quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted annualised basis, the economy grew at a slower pace of 1.3 per cent, after expanding by 17.4 percent in the previous quarter.
