Few Hawkers Increase Prices

FEW HAWKERS INCREASE PRICES
The latest Department of Statistics (DOS) survey on hawker food prices showed that only 0.4% of the 1,300 hawkers surveyed have raised prices between 4 and 17 August. This is lower than the 0.9% recorded in the preceding 2 weeks (from 21 Jul to 3 Aug), and continues the general downtrend observed in the past month. CAP is encouraged by the findings, and urges hawker stalls to continue to keep prices stable and not attempt to profiteer from the GST increase. DOS will continue to monitor hawker prices closely.
