Summary
MAS Core Inflation edged down to 0.6% on a year-on-year (y-o-y) basis in May from 0.7% in April.
This was mainly driven by lower food inflation.
On a month-on-month (m-o-m) basis, core inflation eased to 0.0% in May.
CPI-All Items inflation fell to 0.8% y-o-y in May, from 0.9% y-o-y in April.
This was due to lower private transport inflation, in addition to slower core inflation.
On a m-o-m basis, CPI-All Items rose by 0.7%.
