ASEAN Ministers on energy commit to strengthening regional energy security amidst Middle East developments

Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms. Gan Siow Huang, attended the Special ASEAN Ministers for Energy Meeting (AMEM) on 27 April 2026, convened virtually to discuss the impact of the evolving situation in the Middle East on regional and global energy security. The meeting, chaired by H.E. Sharon S. Garin, Secretary of the Department of Energy of the Republic of the Philippines, brought together Energy Ministers and representatives from all ASEAN Member States, with support from the ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), and the ASEAN Council on Petroleum and Energy (ASCOPE).
