Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing met Austrian Federal Minister for Digital and Economic Affairs Dr Margarete Schramböck in Brussels on 11 July 2018. Austria has taken over the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU and Dr Schramböck is the current Chair of the Foreign Affairs Council(Trade), comprising the Trade Ministers from all 28 EU Member states. During the meeting, both ministers agreed to conclude the EU-Singapore Free Trade Agreement and Investment Protection Agreement (EUSFTA/IPA) as soon as possible. They also reaffirmed the warm bilateral relations between Austria and Singapore.
