Singapore’s GDP Grew by 3.1 Per Cent in the Fourth Quarter of 2017

2 January 2018. Based on advance estimates, the Singapore economy grew by 3.1 per cent on a year-on-year basis in the fourth quarter of 2017, easing from the 5.4 per cent growth in the previous quarter. On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted annualised basis, the economy expanded at a slower pace of 2.8 per cent compared to the 9.4 per cent growth in the preceding quarter.

For the whole of 2017, the economy grew by 3.5 per cent. This is in line with MTI’s earlier announced GDP growth forecast of "3.0 to 3.5 per cent".
