Joint Press Statement by the MFA, MTI & MND on Official Visit of Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of the People’s Republic of China

 
Joint Press Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of National Development on Official Visit of Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli of the People’s Republic of China, 21 to 23 October 2013
  
 
Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Gaoli will visit Singapore from 21 to 23 October 2013 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean.  DPM Teo and Vice Premier Zhang will co-chair the 10th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC), 15th Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Joint Steering Council (JSC) and 6th Tianjin Eco-city (TEC) JSC meetings on 22 October.
 
DPM Teo will host a welcome dinner for Vice Premier Zhang on 21 October, where they will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the JCBC.  The JCBC meeting will discuss existing and new areas of bilateral cooperation.  The SIP and TEC JSC meetings will review the progress of these two Government-to-Government projects and chart new directions for their future development.  DPM Teo and Vice Premier Zhang will also jointly witness the signing of several bilateral agreements after the JCBC meeting.
 
During his visit, Vice Premier Zhang will call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.  DPM and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong will host separate meals for Vice Premier Zhang.  Vice Premier Zhang will also visit the Anchorvale Community Club and Sengkang Floating Wetland for an update on Singapore’s efforts in the areas of inclusive and sustainable development.
