The Future Economy Council

 

The Future Economy Council drives the growth and transformation of Singapore’s economy for the future. Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, the Council comprises members from government, industry, trade associations and chambers, unions, and educational and training institutions.

Alexander Charles Hungate

Mr. Alex Hungate

Chief Operating Officer, Grab

  • Mr Alex Hungate currently serves as Grab’s Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for leading the Group’s Mobility, Deliveries and Financial Services businesses.
  • Mr Hungate has amassed over 25 years of global leadership experience in various multinational corporations. These include his roles as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SATS, CEO of HSBC Singapore, Group Managing Director of Personal Financial Services and Marketing for HSBC Group, Managing Director, Asia Pacific for Reuters, and Co-CEO, Americas and Global Chief Marketing Officer for Reuters.
  • Mr Hungate also serves as a board member of the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
  • Mr Hungate obtained a degree in engineering, economics and management from Oxford University in 1989 and graduated as a Baker Scholar from the MBA program at Harvard Business School in 1993.

 

Mr. Amos Leong

President & CEO, Univac Group

  • Mr Amos Leong is the CEO of the Univac Group responsible for delivering a total integrated design-to-manufacturing value chain for the biomedical, life science, in-vitro diagnostics industries.
  • Prior to his current post, Mr Amos Leong was the Vice President and General Manager of Agilent Technologies for electronics manufacturing and semiconductors test businesses.
  • He is also Deputy Chairman of Singapore Accreditation Council, member of the Singapore Polytechnic Board of Governors, Audit Committee Chairman and Independent Director of Ellipsiz Ltd.

 

Mr. Andreas Sohmen-Pao

Chairman, BW Group

  • Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao is Chairman of BW Group, a global maritime group in shipping, floating infrastructure, deepwater oil & gas production, and new sustainable technologies. He is Chairman of its six publicly listed affiliates: BW LPG, BW Offshore, BW Energy, BW Epic Kosan, Cadeler and Hafnia.
  • Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao is Chairman of the Singapore Maritime Foundation and a trustee of the Lloyd’s Register Foundation. He chaired the International Maritime Centre 2030 Committee, charting a maritime strategy till 2030, and the International Advisory Panel for Maritime Decarbonisation.
  • Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao has served as a non-executive director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Ltd, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, The London P&I Club, Singapore National Parks Board, Singapore Symphonia Company and Sport Singapore amongst others.
  • Mr Andreas Sohmen-Pao graduated from Oxford University with a first-class honours degree in Oriental Studies and has an Master of Business Administration with distinction from Harvard Business School.

 

 

Mr. Andrew Kwan

Group Managing Director, Commonwealth Capital

  • Mr Andrew Kwan is the Group Managing Director of the Commonwealth Capital group of companies, which has investments along the food vertical including aquaculture, cold chain logistics, food services, and food manufacturing.
  • He is a board member of the Singapore Food Agency and the Infocomm Media Development Authority, council member of the Future Economy Council, MAS Payments Council, Deputy Honorary Secretary of Singapore Business Federation, President of the Restaurant Association of Singapore and Chairman of the Aquaculture Innovation Centre in Singapore.
  • He is also the Deputy Chairman of Focus on the Family and an Elder at his local church.
  • Mr Andrew Kwan is Singapore’s non-resident Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden. He had previously served on the boards of SPRING Singapore and Enterprise Singapore as well.

 

Dr. Azlinda Anwar

Director (Grants & IP Administration) & Coordinating Director, Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory

  • Dr Azlinda Anwar heads the grants, intellectual property/technology transfer and commercialisation units of TLL and was previously Head Innovation Catalyst of the Temasek Lifesciences Accelerator and Programme Director of Temasek Life Sciences Venture.
  • She served in the CFE Sub-Committee (Future Corporate Capabilities & Innovation [Innovation]), Inter-Ministry Committee on Food Security WG4, former board member and R&D Board Committee of AVA and was in the Censorship Review Committee 2009.
  • Dr Azlinda Anwar has more than 20 years of experience in the life sciences field, contributing in various capacities ranging from advisory committee member of international conferences and academic grants, as well as an international journal reviewer.

 

Mr. Chen Kok Sing

Corporate Vice President and Singapore Country Manager, Micron Semiconductor Asia

  • Mr Chen Kok Sing is currently Corporate Vice President for Frontend Manufacturing, and Country Manager for Micron Technology in Singapore, responsible for aligning Micron’s goals, strategy, and leadership within its Singapore presence.
  • Mr Chen Kok Sing is part of the pioneer team that established TECH Semiconductor in 1991, and held senior positions of increasing responsibilities to Operations Vice President.
  • Mr Chen Kok Sing led the start-up of IM Flash Singapore, a joint venture between Micron and Intel, as the Managing Director in 2007.
  • After the amalgamation of IMFS into Micron in 2012, Mr Chen served in positions of Singapore Wafer Fabs Operations Managing Director responsible for Micron’s three fabrication facilities in Singapore; Micron Singapore Backend Managing Director responsible for Assembly, Test, and Modules/SSD operations; North America Backend Operations Managing Director based at the company headquarters in Boise, Idaho, USA; and Singapore Wafer Fabs Managing Director.

 

Mrs. Chew Kwee Tiang

Senior Director, Wellness, National Healthcare Group (NHG) & Senior Advisor, NHG Board of Advisors

  • A well-respected leader with a wealth of experience spanning 35 years in the public healthcare sector. She led a major restructuring exercise which significantly improved operational processes, patient care and the bottom-line for Alexandra Hospital. She was also instrumental in the planning and development of KTPH into a hassle-free, health promoting and environmentally sustainable hospital.
  • Mrs Chew Kwee Tiang is a strong believer of the Kaizen Movement and a passionate advocate of workplace health. As Senior Director, Wellness, NHG, she will lead the development and implementation of non-medical, wellness-related pilot programmes across three fronts - Schools, Employees and the Elderly – for NHG’s Central region. She will also support the leadership in NHG and Yishun Health to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Currently, she serves on the Management Board of Institute of Systems Science (ISS), ITE Healthcare Academic Advisory Committee (HAAC), Advisor to the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore and member of the law disciplinary panel of Supreme Court.
  • She received the CEO Award by Singapore Human Resources Institute; Medal of Commendation in recognition towards good labour management relations, workers’ welfare and NTUC initiatives and the National Day Public Administration Medal (Silver).

 

Mr. Chew Men Leong

President, Urban Solutions, of ST Engineering

  • Mr Chew Men Leong assumed the role of President, Urban Solutions, of ST Engineering in January 2021, where he leads the Group’s global smart city business in the areas of mobility, utilities, infrastructure, connectivity, autonomous and sustainable solutions.
  • Previously, he served as the Group’s Chief Marketing Officer overseeing marketing of smart city and international defence solutions and as the Deputy President of the Group’s Marine arm.
  • Prior to ST Engineering, Mr Chew Men Leong served in various senior management and leadership roles in the Government. He served as the CEO of the Land Transport Authority and as the CEO of the Public Utilities Board, National Water Agency. He also served with Singapore Armed Forces for 25 years and was last appointed as Chief of the Republic of Singapore Navy.

 

Prof. Chong Tow Chong

Founding Provost of the Singapore University of Technology and Design

  • Professor Chong Tow Chong is a founding Provost of the Singapore University of Technology and Design, former Professor at the National University of Singapore, and the Executive Director of Data Storage Institute and Science & Engineering Research Council at A*STAR.
  • Professor Chong Tow Chong serves on the Board of Directors for Central Provision Fund, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Home Team Science and Technology Agency, Eunoia JC, Raffles Institution, Catholic High School, and ACCORD (Educational Institutes), and also previously served on DSO National Laboratories and Defence Science and Technology Agency Boards.
  • Professor Chong Tow Chong was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2004, and was previously awarded the President’s Science and Technology Medal in 2010, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ISPS Division Leadership in Research and Development Award in 2014, the IES-IEEE Joint Medal of Excellence Award in 2013 and the Teaching Excellence Award from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Engineering Faculty in 1994.
  • Professor Chong Tow Chong obtained his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Masters in Electrical Engineering from NUS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Mr. Chua Kee Lock

CEO, Vertex Holdings

  • Mr Chua Kee Lock is the CEO of Vertex Holdings, a Singapore-headquartered venture capital investment holding company. He is also concurrently Managing Partner of Vertex Ventures SEA & India as well as Chairman of Vertex Growth.
  • In 2020, Mr Chua was appointed by the Singapore Government as a non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Panama.
  • Mr Chua Kee Lock serves on the board of several companies, including Shenzhen Chipscreen Biosciences, Yongmao, and Credit Bureau Asia, which are publicly listed.
  • He has held senior positions in Biosensors International Group Ltd, Walden International, NatSteel Ltd and Intraco Ltd. He also co-founded MediaRing, a provider of voice-over-internet, which later listed on Singapore’s stock exchange.

 

Mr. Desmond Choo

Mayor of North East District and Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC, Assistant Secretary-General and Director of Policy Division, National Trades Union Congress, Executive Secretary, Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore

  • Mr Desmond Choo is a Member of Parliament for the Tampines Group Representative Constituency and the Adviser to the Tampines Changkat Grassroots Organisations. Concurrently, he is the Mayor of North East District. Mr Desmond Choo oversees social and community development for 20 constituencies.
  • Mr Desmond Choo is also the Assistant Secretary-General and Director of Policy Division at NTUC. He oversees the economic and social policies, strategic communications and international affairs. He is also the Executive Secretary of the Union of Telecoms Employees of Singapore and Advisor to the Young NTUC Committee.
  • Within the Labour Movement, Mr Desmond Choo is the Advisor to the Attractions, Resorts & Entertainment Union, Singapore Union of Broadcasting Employees and Union of Security Employees. He is also the Trustee of Singapore Shell Employees’ Union.
  • Mr Desmond Choo sits on the Board of Directors for Surbana Jurong Pte Ltd and SBS Transit Ptd Ltd.
  • Prior to joining NTUC, Mr Desmond Choo served in various roles in the Singapore Police Force (SPF), Ministry of Manpower and the private sector. He was the Senior Vice President, Investments of Kestrel Capital Pte Ltd. He was also instrumental in leading the acquisition of La Liga’s Valencia CF and development of the non-profit Foundation of Valencia CF. He was on the Board of the Foundation of Valencia CF and provided advice on the development of Hotel Football in Manchester, United Kingdom.
  • Mr Desmond Choo was awarded the SPF Overseas Merit Scholarship in 1997 to study Economics at the University of Chicago.

 

Mr. Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara

CEO, Temasek International Pte Ltd

  • Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara joined Temasek in September 2010 and has been CEO of Temasek International since April 2019.
  • Since joining Temasek, Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara has held various leadership roles leading the Investment, Portfolio Management, and the Enterprise Development Groups. He has also led various Temasek market teams globally, including Singapore, the U.S. and the Americas.
  • Mr Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara serves on the boards of the National Research Foundation in Singapore, Enterprise Singapore, and the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He is also a member of the Financial Centre Advisory Panel of the Monetary Authority of Singapore, and the National Jobs Council.
  • He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Laws and obtained a Master of Law from the University of Cambridge.

 

Ms. Euleen Goh

Non-Executive Chairman, Singapore Institute of Management Group Limited

  • Ms Euleen Goh is the Non-Executive Chairman of Singapore Institute of Management Group Limited.
  • She is also Non-Executive Chairman of SATS Limited, a leading provider of Food Solutions and Gateway Services in Asia Pacific, and Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of Royal Dutch Shell plc.
  • She is also a Board member of various non-profit organisations, and was awarded the Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Medal) in 2005, and the Bintang Bakti Masyarakat (Public Service Star) in 2012.

 

Ms. Kwee Wei-Lin

President, Singapore Hotel Association and Head of Hotels, Pontiac Land Group

  • Currently the Head of Hotels at the Pontiac Land Group, a leading real estate development and investment company with over half a century of expertise and experience in luxury property development.
  • President of the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) which is the umbrella body for hotels in Singapore representing 160 members which accounts for some 85% of total gazetted room count.
  • She was a member of the Emerging Stronger Taskforce, and co-lead of the Alliance for Action on Enabling Safe and Innovative Visitor Experiences. She is a member of the Tourism Recovery Action Taskforce, and the Workplace Safety and Health Council and is the Chair of the Hospitality and Entertainment Industries Committee.
  • She was a 2013 Eisenhower Fellow and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

 

Mr. Lee Chee Koon

Group CEO, CapitaLand Investment

  • Mr Lee Chee Koon is the Group CEO of CapitaLand Investment.
  • His previous appointments include: Group Chief Investment Officer, CapitaLand Limited; CEO, The Ascott Limited; and Managing Director for North Asia, The Ascott Limited. Mr Lee Chee Koon also served in the public sector, namely in Ministry of Trade & Industry, and Ministry of Finance.

 

Mr. Liam Wee Sin

Group CEO, UOL Group Limited

  • Mr Liam Wee Sin has been the Group CEO of UOL Group Limited since 2019. Prior to this appointment, he had been with UOL for 26 years. Before joining UOL Group Limited in 1993, Mr Liam Wee Sin was in the public sector for eight years, overseeing architectural works and facilities management. He also worked with Jones Lang Wootton for project management and consultancy work.
  • An advocate of good design and green architecture, Mr Liam Wee Sin is a member of the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) Architecture and Urban Design Excellence Committee. He had previously served as a member of the URA Design Advisory Committee, Preservation of Monuments Board, and National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC). In February 2021, Mr Liam was appointed second vice-president of the Real Estate Developers’ Association of Singapore (REDAS). Previously he was first vice-president of REDAS from 2017 to 2018.

 

Mr. Lim Ming Yan

Chairman, Singapore Business Federation

  • Mr Lim Ming Yan is Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the apex business chamber championing the interests of the Singapore business community in the areas of trade, investment and industrial relations. SBF represents 27,200 companies, as well as key local and foreign business chambers.
  • Mr Lim Ming Yan is also the Chairman of Workforce Singapore, a member of Singapore’s Future Economy Council (FEC), Co-Chairman of FEC’s Built Environment sub-committee, a member of FEC’s Emerging Stronger Taskforce, a board director of Business China, as well as a board trustee of Singapore Management University.
  • Mr Lim Ming Yan also sits on the boards of Singapore Press Holdings, Central China Real Estate Limited and DLF Cyber City Developers Limited.
  • In his 22 years at CapitaLand Limited, Mr Lim was President and Group CEO from 2013 to 2018. He was also CEO of The Ascott Limited from 2009 to 2012 and CEO of CapitaLand China from 2000 to 2009.
  • Mr Lim Ming Yan graduated with a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom in 1985. He also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2002.

 

Ms. Mary Liew

President, Singapore National Trades Union Congress

  • Ms Mary Liew is the President of the Singapore National Trades Union Congress.
  • She is also the General Secretary of the Singapore Maritime Officers’ Union (SMOU).
  • Ms Mary Liew served as a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from February 2012 to August 2014.
  • Internationally, Ms Mary Liew is the Vice-President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation and the Deputy Member of the Governing Body of the International Labour Organisation representing Workers’ Group.

 

Ms. Jeanne Liew

Principal & CEO, Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP)

  • Ms Jeanne Liew is Principal & CEO of Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP).
  • Ms Jeanne Liew has more than 20 years of experience in the education sector, and led the polytechnic in the implementation of the Professional Competency Model of teaching and learning, and setting up of the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning.
  • Beyond NYP, she serves on the Board of Enterprise Singapore and the National Integration Council.
  • She graduated with Honours in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, and holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

 

Mr. Neil Yong

Executive Director, Woh Hup Holdings Private Limited

  • Mr Neil Yong is Executive Director of Woh Hup Holdings Private Limited, one of Singapore’s oldest and largest homegrown building and civil engineering specialists, with more than 17 years of experience in the industry. Mr Yong is responsible for the strategic directions of Woh Hup Group’s future growth.
  • Mr Neil Yong heads the subsidiaries under Woh Hup Group in Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia to expand the Group’s presence and footprints in the region.
  • Mr Neil Yong serves as a committee member of Building Environment Sub-committee under Singapore Business Federation Infrastructure Committee and panel member of Scaffold Grant by The Majurity Trust.
  • Mr Neil Yong is also Chairman of TalentTrust Limited, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help other non-profits in Singapore, through structured skills-based volunteering projects that drive sustainable and measurable impact.

 

Mr. Ng Chee Meng

NTUC Secretary-General

  • Mr Ng Chee Meng was elected as the Secretary-General of NTUC in May 2018. As the NTUC Secretary-General, he advocates and pushes for initiatives for better wages, welfare and work prospects for workers, such as the formation of Company Training Committees for workers to keep up with industry transformation, the setting up the NTUC Job Security Council to help at-risk workers get new jobs faster, the formation of bipartite Professionals, Managers and Executives Taskforce to provide better protection for local professionals, managers and executives, and more.
  • Mr Ng Chee Meng was formerly the Minister in Prime Minister’s Office from May 2018 to July 2020. Before this, he was the Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport.
  • Mr Ng Chee Meng also served as Singapore's Chief of Defence Force. During his 29 years of service in the Singapore Armed Forces, he held various key command and staff appointments including Commander of Changi Air Base, Director of Joint Operations and Chief of Air Force.
  • Mr Ng Chee Meng graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and obtained a Master of Arts (International Relations) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, USA.

 

Dr. Robert Yap

Dr. Robert Yap

Executive Chairman, YCH Group

  • Dr Robert Yap is the Executive Chairman of YCH Group, Singapore’s leading end-to-end supply chain solutions partner with operations in more than 100 locations spanning across Asia Pacific.
  • He also founded Y3 Technologies, a leading supply chain IT solutions company; Supply Chain City, Asia’s supply chain nerve centre; YCH’s corporate venture fund, Supply Chain Angels; Chairman of Supply Chain and Logistics Academy, an industry-level academy for logisticians and supply chain practitioners; and serves as Emeritus Chairman of Supply Chain Asia.
  • Dr Robert Yap contributes as an advisor on numerous local and international platforms, such as President of Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), as well as the Singapore Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council and Malaysia-Singapore Business Council respectively, and is also on the Payments Council, National Wages Council, National Jobs Council, Singapore-Jiangsu Cooperation Council as well as all seven of the Singapore-China Bilateral Business Councils.
  • Dr Robert Yap was conferred the Public Service Medal and Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2017, “Businessman of the Year” at Singapore Business Awards 2016, and the NUS Business School Eminent Business (Senior) Alumni Award 2014.

 

Mr. Kho Choon Keng

President, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Group Executive Chairman, Lian Huat Group

  • Mr Kho Choon Keng was elected as President of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI)’s 61st Council in 2022.
  • A Singapore President’s Scholar, Mr Kho graduated in 1981 with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Science, Engineering, from King’s College University of London. Mr Kho started his career with the Singapore civil service until 1985, when he joined the family business, Singapore-based Lian Huat Group, that is founded by his late father Mr Kho Beng Kang.
  • Mr Kho is now the Executive Chairman of Lian Huat Group, which has diverse business interests in residential and commercial development, and real estate investments and management in Singapore, Australia, and China.
  • Mr Kho is a Director of Business China, Vice Chairman of the China-North Asia Business Group of the Singapore Business Federation, and a member of the Board of Trustees of NTUC-U Care Fund. He is the Chairman of Singapore Koh Clan Association.
  • Mr Kho also serves on the school boards of Chung Cheng High School, Nanyang Junior College, Dunman High School, and is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Singapore Chinese High School.

 

Mr. Russell Tham

Senior Managing Director (Enterprise Development Group and Strategy Office), Temasek International

  • Mr Russell Tham joined Temasek in May 2020 and is concurrently Joint Head of Enterprise Development Group and Joint Head of Strategic Development, with a focus on building new platform businesses and investment in early stage high potential Science & Technology entities respectively.
  • Mr Russell Tham spent 24 years at Applied Materials, the world’s largest semiconductor equipment and services company where he last held the position of President, Applied Materials Southeast Asia, and oversaw global corporate level business development responsibilities for new markets. He led regional business activity, and oversaw the company’s Singapore business infrastructure expansion into manufacturing, supply chain, R&D and product development for global markets. Mr Russell Tham has held various global leadership roles from 2010 to 2017.
  • Mr Russell Tham currently serves as Deputy Chairman and board member of Temasek Polytechnic, board member of Infocomm Media Development Authority and SkillsFuture Singapore. Mr Russell Tham was conferred the Public Service Medal in 2017.

 

Prof. Subra Suresh

President & Distinguished University Professor, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

  • Professor Subra Suresh is the 4th President and inaugural Distinguished University Professor of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, since January 2018. He is a globally recognised materials scientist, biological engineer, author, and entrepreneur, and is also the recipient of some of the highest honours by governments and universities for his leadership in advancing science, technology, education, research, and innovation. Professor Suresh is the first Asia-born professor to lead any of the five schools at MIT and the first Asia-born to lead the National Science Foundation (2010 – 2013) and Carnegie Mellon (2013 – 2017).
  • Professor Subra Suresh is amongst a rare group of scholars elected to all three US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for his pioneering research in materials science and engineering, mechanics, and biomedicine. Professor Suresh has been awarded 18 honorary doctorate degrees from some of the most prestigious institutions in the USA, UK, China, India, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, South Korea, Greece, and Russia. He has authored three books, more than 300 research articles, 26 patent applications, and has co-founded two technology start-ups.
  • Professor Subra Suresh is an independent Director of the Board of HP Inc. (HPQ) and Singapore Exchange (SGX); a member of the Board of National Research Foundation and A*STAR, and a Senior Advisor to Temasek International Pte Ltd.

 

Prof. Tan Eng Chye

President, National University of Singapore (NUS)

  • Professor Tan Eng Chye was appointed President of the National University of Singapore on 1 January 2018. He is the University’s 5th president, and the 23rd leader to head Singapore’s oldest higher education institution.
  • Professor Tan Eng Chye is a passionate and award-winning educator. He was a pioneer architect of the current academic system in NUS, and has seeded many initiatives such as the Special Programme in Science, University Scholars Programme, University Town Residential College Programme, Grade-free Year, and Technology-enhanced Education.
  • Professor Tan Eng Chye received the Public Administration Medal (Gold) at Singapore's National Day Awards in 2014 for his outstanding contributions to education. He was awarded the Wilbur Lucius Cross Medal, which honours exceptional alumni in the areas of scholarship, teaching, academic administration and public service, by Yale University in 2018. Professor Tan was also conferred an Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Southampton in 2018 in recognition of his achievements as “an innovative and exceptional teacher, and then as a distinguished and respected leader in academia”.

Ms. Teo Lay Lim

Deputy Chair, SPH Media and Chairperson, Polytechnic & ITE External Review Panel, Ministry of Education

  • Lay Lim is Deputy Chair of SPH Media, and chairs the Polytechnic & ITE External Review Panel for the Ministry of Education. She also serves on the Boards of UOB, Workforce Singapore, the Singapore Accountancy Commission, and the Institute for HR Professionals.
  • Lay Lim retired from Accenture on 31 August 2021, after a career spanning thirty-three and a half years. During this time she set up new practices for Accenture for the Asia Pacific Region – Customer Relationship Management practice in 2002, and Accenture Analytics and Accenture Sustainability Services in 2008 – before assuming geographic leadership as Country Managing Director for Singapore in 2007, and as Chief Executive for Accenture South East Asia in 2011.

 

Mr. Wahab Yusoff

Vice President, APJ, Delinea (formerly Thycotic & Centrify)

  • Mr Wahab holds the position of Vice President - Asia Pacific & Japan at Delinea. Formed from established leaders in Privileged Access Management – Thycotic and Centrify. Delinea is a leading provider of cloud-ready privileged access management (PAM) solutions that empower cybersecurity for the modern, hybrid enterprise.
  • With over 30 years of experience in the information technology, computer and cybersecurity fields, Mr Wahab has held various leadership roles in companies that are focused on helping multi-national corporations establish and grow their operations in the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Delinea, Mr Wahab was Vice President, APJ of Forescout Technologies Pte Ltd from 2017 – 2021, Vice President and General Manager of Palo Alto Networks ASEAN from 2015 to 2017. He also held the role of Vice President, South Asia of McAfee & Intel Security from 2009 to 2015 and was EMC Computer Systems, South Asia’s Vice President and General Manager from 2003 to 2009.
  • Mr Wahab is presently a Board of Director of Singapore Civil Service College (CSC) and EZ-Link Pte Ltd. Board Member of Workforce Singapore (WSG) and National Arts Council (NAC). He is a Non-Executive Director of Changi Airport Group and Rekanext Capital Partners Pte Ltd (a venture capital fund focused on ASEAN pre-series start-ups). He is also a member of Singapore’s Future Economy Council (FEC) and Kaplan Industry Advisory Board (IT and Engineering).
  • Mr Wahab holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore and is a graduate of INSEAD’s International Executive Programme.

 

Mr. Wong Kim Yin

Group President & CEO, Sembcorp Industries

  • Mr Wong Kim Yin is Group President & CEO of Sembcorp Industries. He has over 20 years of leadership experience in the energy sector and investment management. As a former group CEO of Singapore Power, Mr Wong led the transformation of the company towards an increased focus on sustainability and innovation.
  • Prior to the SP Group, Mr Wong Kim Yin was senior managing director of investments at Temasek International, overseeing investments in the energy, transportation and industrial sectors. He was also with The AES Corporation, managing project development and mergers and acquisitions across Asia Pacific.
  • Mr Wong Kim Yin is also chairman of SkillsFuture Singapore, director of China Venture Capital Fund Corporation, DSO National Laboratories, the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore as well as a board member of the National Research Foundation.
  • Mr Wong Kim Yin holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science & Information Systems from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
